The SPLIT STREAM Burner is a patented Oxygen Forehearth Burner utilizing two colliding streams to provide a flat flame shape. The objective of the Forehearth burner is not to heat the glass but to maintain its temperature on the sides of the Forehearth. If the glass is allowed to cool on the edges, an uneven flow profile will result which can lead to glass quality problems. Additionally cold glass reheated can generate a bubble which also affects glass quality. The SPLIT STREAM Burner can project its heat across the Forehearth to the far wall edge and have a moderate effect on the middle of the glass stream. Since the Oxygen and Fuel is mixing only after the block, this type of burner full fills highest safety standards and can be regulated easily by manual valves or in a group. Anyway, as this burner does not premix fuel and oxygen, it is possible to switch off individual Burners. The Burner Block can be designed for a direct retrofit for existing air-fuel Forehearth burners. Hotwork and UAS specialised in supply of auxiliary equipment, including full gas control stations, furnace control system ( DCS ), full automation, exhaust gas analysis and Oxygen probes as well as tuning, supervision and commissioning services worldwide.

Option to switch off Burners at NO risk of back firing
Improved temperature homogeneity of the glass
Low maintenance
Easy to set up and handle, as there is no pre-mixing of Oxygen and fuel
No blowers required for the combustion
